Update: I completely forgot to include someone in the roundup, my good friend Naomi from Straight Into Bed Cakefree and Dried. I think it was because she informally submitted it and it just blew past me when it came to judging time, but it was completely my fault! I apologize! You’ve been added to the listing/collage and if anyone else is missing, let me know!
This was tough. Tougher than I thought. Kristina from The Chocolate Peanut Butter Gallery, e from Foodaphilia and I put on our chef hats and deliberated long and hard. We each voted on our favorites and compiled an overall top 3.
How did I choose? Well, the only recipe I actually made was Daphne’s delicious Peanut Butter Pistachio Chocolate Chip Cookies, so I couldn’t rely on my tongue in that sense. My method was to stare at the picture (if there was one) and imagine biting into the cookie while tasting each ingredient. In a way, I did follow my tongue: I voted for the recipes that made my tongue water the most (and I mean this literally, now I know how dogs feel). To be honest, it was torture. I meditated, separated myself from my surroundings and focused on those pictures until I could taste them, only to realize shortly after that there was no cookie stimulating my taste buds, only a strong imagination touched by a hint of crazy. Each time I got disappointed and a little more depressed. By the end, I had to brush my teeth for two reasons: 1. So the fictitious cookies wouldn’t taste good anymore and 2. To prevent me from raiding the kitchen and polishing off my peanut butter collection – speaking of which, last night I had a 10:00 craving and ate the remaining 1/4 of a jar of the apple pie peanut butter I made in that post. And not with a spoon, with a knife (that’s where the touch of crazy comes in).
In truth, we loved them all. Every recipe offered something different and unique. We received 17 entries in total – 15 of which were eligible to win since e and I participated for fun. We loved the choices offered by Marie-Lies, the peanutty presentation by Boscoe, Amanda’s and Gregg’s health factor, the fruit-sweetened vegan-ness of Rosie-Anne’s cookies, the multi-layered depth of Natalie’s and Naomi’s cookies, and the dark chocolate combinations of Dee’s and Monica’s cookies. I could go on and on about each recipe, but I think it’s about time we announce the winner of the First Peanut Butter Exhibition!
Congratulations to the winners! Your recipes dazzled our senses and knocked us of our feet. You’ll be receiving special badges to place on your site and declare you success! Let me just point out that the true winners are you and I because we now have 17 outstanding peanut butter recipes to try!

This was fun! All the cookies look scrumptious, and I’m sure as heck (can I say heck, here?) going to whip up a batch of Holycraptheseareamazing cookies. Congrats to all winners :) and thanks N and E for organizing this.
Hey, I didn’t even get a mention! Those Holycraptheseare amazing cookies deserve to be paraded around on someone’s shoulders for a full lap, just for that name!
Great turn out and wonderful description of the judging process. I have a great mental picture of you staring at pictures of cookies now with an unhinged look as you slaver and froth at the mouth.
Maybe by next month I’ll be able to eat peanut butter again….
Thanks everyone for participating! It was so hard to decide. Now I’m faced with a new challenge: who’s recipe to try first! It never ends!!
I get such a kick out of you! Zen and the art of Pavlovian cookie judging!
Wow, these all look amazing! Lovely photo collage, by the way. I’ll have to try Life, Love, and Food’s vegan cookies as there’s no dairy and not much flour to try to substitute my gluten-free blend with. Those should work great adapting to GF/DF.
All of them look wonderful and even though it’s only 7 AM, my mouth is watering too!
Melissa
I tried and tried to participate in this and I just couldn’t get it together. I even had a recipe sitting on my counter for a couple of weeks. Next time…
At least you got me thinking about peanut butter cookies! The entries look great…
Holy Crap! That winning cookie looks fabulous! I wanted to enter the contest so bad, but couldn’t get the right combination…not yet anyway! I have to laugh, however, with every batch I made I had my teenager and his friends try them, they loved them all! That just proves, teenagers will eat anything! Can’t wait for your next contest!
Lisa
All I can say is wow. You guys take amazing pictures and really capture the beauty of your cookies. You can almost taste them just looking at them. I’ll have to work on my photography skills. Congrats to the winners!
All of these cookies look so good! I can’t wait to try them. Thanks again for the fabulous event! I am looking forward to the next one!
wowowow!!! fabulous, scrumptious round-up – shows how delicious peanut butter is, in many different cookie-forms!! :0)
I have to agree with Celine: I’m tickled to explore all the new-to-me blogs that have popped out of the woodwork for the Great Peanut Butter Exhibition!
Many thanks to Nick and E for graciously hosting such a lovely blogging event. Now, then, please excuse me because I’ve got some serious baking to do!
For everyone who tries any of the cookies posted here, I’d be curious to hear about how the recipes work out in other people’s kitchens!
the blonde award, eh? that got a chuckle out of me. :)
great roundup!
how could a cookie with that name not win!
What an amazing array of cookies. Now to go read about every cookie and see what ingredients I have in my pantry. The fun never ends!
Thanks for hosting a great event guys and congratulations to all the Cookie Winners!

Wow! I can’t believe I won! Thank you so much for hosting this challenge and for picking ME!!!
I have to say that I’m in excellent company. There are some fabulous looking cookies in that roundup! I definitely have my work cut out for me this weekend! ;)
My friend Grace used a recipe of yours and made some peanut butter the other day and I got to taste some of it. I must say, it was like eating glue. I couldn’t open my mouth for about 5 minutes, once the peanut butter dissolved. This website is making me dislike peanut butter…..sorry
Nice looking website about something as worthless as peanut butter = someone with WAY too much time on their hands
oh, great entries–they all look so good!
Wow! All those cookies look so great!
have to suggest incase noone knows about this recipe:
no bake peanut butter balls:
1 c icing sugar
1 c peanut butter
1 c rice krispies
1/2 cup walnets (optional)
roll in coconut
AMAZING.
Wow, those recipes are gorgeous! Food for thought!
I can’t believe I missed this! I need to pay attention so I can enter the next PBE.
I’m glad everyone enjoyed it! I had a great time doing it and I know Kristina and e enjoyed it as well. We’re looking forward to the next one which is coming up soon! Don’t miss out on the next one, it’s going to be a broader category and more open to all sorts of different recipes. Stay tuned!
Ha Ha. I LOVE my “Blonde Award”! I was just soooooo excited to see a PB competition that I jumped the gun and didn’t read the “cookie” part. Totally LOVE your blog!! All of the recipes and photos look great!
