Congratulations! You are cordially invited to participate in the next Great Peanut Butter Exhibition! In conjunction with Fake Food Free, For The Love of Peanut Butter and ZestyCook, we are proud to bring this roundup/competition right to your doorstep. This time the theme is “Sandwich”, chosen because of my surprise at not receiving one sandwich recipe for the previous “no-bake” peanut butter exhibition. The real prizes here are the wonderful recipes we gather but we also have a prize for the winner!

What classifies a peanut butter sandwich? Traditionally it’s a slab of peanut butter between two slices of bread, but let’s see some creativity here. How about some peanut butter lettuce wraps or Peanut Butter Sushi? Any method of eating peanut butter that is all-inclusive and portable as to make for a nutritious lunch should do. To enter, submit your best peanut butter sandwich recipe below, following the guidelines. The deadline is March 15th @ Noon (PST) which gives you a full 3 weeks to brainstorm, develop and create the ultimate peanut butter sandwich! Stock up on peanut butter and get ready, read on for details.

Judging Criteria:

Peanut Butter Weight, Creativity, Portability and Preparation Time.

Rules:

One entry per person so choose wisely! Pictures are highly recommended but not required. Due to peanut allergies, you may use any nut butter in your recipe since nut butters are easily interchangeable. Also, please link back to this page to indicate that you are entering the recipe into this contest and to spread the word. Feel free to use any of the logos, including the following, to do so:

Blogless? Don’t worry if you don’t have a blog, you can still submit your winning recipe. Fill out the same form but provide the “Recipe” instead of a “Recipe Permalink” and feel free to email a picture to “pbe@peanutbutterboy.com” to go along with the recipe!

Submission:

Click here to submit your recipe online. Alternatively, email “pbe@peanutbutterboy.com” with “PBE #5” as the subject and the following information:

Name
Email
Recipe Title
Recipe or Recipe Permalink

Prize:

All recipes will be listed but the judges will vote for the Top 3. All 3 winners will receive a winning badge to place on their site but the first place winner will receive the Peanut Butter & Co. Cookbook, one of the books that motivated me to start The Peanut Butter Boy. Good luck to all!

You could try, just bake at high temp with spray oil, and then flip them…I thought about how good chocolate pieces would have been in them, I am making the PB mashers next…

Nah, no bread required, but it should be portable like sushi, pitas, burritos, lettuce wraps, spring rolls, etc… ~ Nick

  16. justine says:

    hey,
I tried a few of your recipes in my blog. come check them out.

    ~Justine

Excellent, the raspberry brownie is the best. My advice is to try to make the raspberry layer the same thickness as the brownie otherwise it’s overwhelming, plus the brownie/fudge part is the best. Did you like the PB banana omelet? Also, have you tried my pancakes yet? Less carbs, more protein. Couldn’t leave a comment on your blog by the way, the word verification thing just said “Loading”. ~ Nick

  17. Leah says:

hm…maybe i should submit the peanut butter beef jerky i just made up…

Made up like in your head or made up like you can give me this recipe? =) ~ Nick

  18. Leah says:

i suppose i could give you the recipe :)
its kinda random amounts i threw together
    butttttt
    — 4-5 little sushi soysauce packets- most likely the same amount in tsps if you dont collect soysauce packets like my family apparently does
    — 3 tbs peanut butter, or more! i didnt use quite this much and the taste wasnt very strong
    –1-2 tbs of seasame oil
    — 1 tbs honey
    — dash of cayane pepper, depending on how spicy you like it
    — and of course sliced flank, or skirt steak
oh and this amount of maranade is good for like 10 peices of jerky, you should probably make way more for a normal sized batch of jerky…but i was just experimenting…anyway mix all the stuff together, and pour over beef slices and maranade overnight, then rinse, or pat off the jerky and put in a dehydrator for 5-6 hours
    enjoy!

  19. I’m all over this! Having two small boys though, they like things traditional, but I’ll see what I can do!

  20. Rose-Anne says:

After an overnight think, I’ve got a perfectly unusual idea for the latest Peanut Butter Exhibition. Where’s my spoon? :-)

Thanks for the submission! I’ve submitted the information through the submission form and removed it from this comment so you don’t get any spam =) ~ Nick

  26. Carol says:

Hi, I was just wondering, when you say preparation time will be a factor for judging, do you mean it should be on the quick and simple side, or do you mean you want something more complex?
    Thanks

Good question, it should be more on the simple side of things. I think a shorter prep time is always desirable. If two dishes are otherwise identical, I would judge the quicker to prepare one better. Hope that helps! ~ Nick

  27. Allyn says:

New to the blogging thing due to this contest alone! I’ve been lurking around for a few months and decided to pull the trigger when the pb sammy opportunity presented itself. Very new to this, so hoping I don’t miss any steps. Will submit this weekend, thanks for the opp!
