Sometimes, persistence pays off. Whether you keep entering contests and losing, fall off your unicycle, or can’t get those magic eye puzzles – as long as you keep trying, you’ll get it eventually (except those magic eye puzzles, nobody gets those). The same goes for the winner of this contest. The randomly chosen number was lucky number 7, so congratulations to Amy H! Amy has entered the past 5 contests here at PBB but never won, until now. She also shared one of her favorite peanut butter recipes, Peanut Butter Cup Crunch Brownie Bars. They look so good it hurts, so I suggest you don’t click that link (too late?). Enjoy your prize pack and jar of PBB Amy! As for me, I just finished my first Peanut Butter Boy sampling at a gourmet marketplace yesterday. If you’re near Hoboken, we’re now in two stores. Read on for details!

    Okay, an ode to peanuts:

My favorite way to eat peanut butter is by dipping apple slices into the jar. Not what you asked for though, is it? Okay, how about — melting peanut butter and chocolate chips together in the microwave, giving it a stir, and then dipping apple slices (or really, my finger works, too)?

OK, I LOVE thai peanut sauce.

My favorite recipe, because it is the only one I have memorized:

    1 C peanut butter
    1 egg
    1 C granulated sugar
    1 C chocolate chips

Combine, make little cookie dough balls, flatten with a glass dipped in sugar, bake at 350 for about 10-11 minutes, remove from oven and let them cool entirely, then remove from pan.

    • Nick says:

Love that recipe. It’s perfect! The only change I’ve made is to substitute half of the sugar for oats. Somehow it doesn’t taste any less sweet and they hold together a little better!

    • Nick says:

Oh and apple slices in a jar is a perfectly acceptable recipe. Ever try carrots in a jar? Do that.

Thai peanut sauce – have you seen the recipe I recently posted for Thai peanut dressing? It’s similar but a little thinner and better for salads or noodles. You should make it: http://www.peanutbutterboy.com/asian-peanut-sauce-dressing/

Also – I just added a jar of Peanut Butter Boy to the prize pack, just for the heck of it! Good luck!

      • Johanna says:

OH! Thanks for the peanut sauce recipe. You’ve just settled the “whatever will I do to make this chicken from last night become tonight’s dinner” problem! It looks really good.

  23. Heather Batchelder says:

My favorite recipe to make with peanut butter is Easy Peasy Peanut Butter Candy Fudge.

All you do is mix 1 jar of peanut butter (Any kind), with 1 can of a vanilla frosting (i do recommend for this that you get a brand frosting, and not the store brand, it usually tastes really sweet or artificial if you do use the store kind), stir it together and then add in between 1/2-1 cup of your favorite candy or chocolate chips. Then pour into an 8×8 pan, and refrigerate at least an hr, then you’re good to go.

I usually try to tailor it according to the season or if I’m making if for a holiday, so like for Christmas I usually put in red and greens M&Ms, or for Easter, pastel M&Ms.

  24. Heather Batchelder says:

Btws, I liked PBB on Facebook :)

Seriously?? I can’t buy this book?!! That’s just mean.

My favorite recipe with PB is probably the granola bars from fANNEtastic food. I always change them up a little with the goodies I throw in, but the PB is always there!! And there’s a PB sauce I use from you actually. I think you originally posted it to go with some kind of stir-fry, but I like to use it as a dipping sauce for grilled chicken tenders.

  29. Lindsay says:

I like you on FB too!!

    Recipe for awesomeness:

*Dip same spoon into shallow dish of dark chocolate chips
*Put spoon in mouth and eat
    *Repeat as necessary!

  50. Melissa says:

My favorite way to eat PB is straight from the jar with a spoon but my favorite recipe (and my family’s) is Peanut Butter Blossoms

  51. Leonard says:

Put two tablespoons of peanut butter in a microwave safe dish and microwave on a very low power (2 works) and microwave for two minutes (watch it as some microwaves are faster than others). Pour the melted peanut butter on a bowl of ice cream (flavor of ice cream is entirely up to you) and then put the bowl in the freezer for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Then eat. The peanut butter makes a nice outer shell and it is still nice and creamy inside. After a few times you can alter amounts and times to your taste.

  52. Leonard says:

Now I liked on Facebook. I actually LOVE the peanut butter, but that option is not available.

  53. Harry says:

Peanut butter pretzel sandwich: generously spread peanut butter on each of two slices of soft bread. Add pretzel sticks and enjoy.

  54. Harry says:

    I liked you on Facebook.

  55. Charlotte says:

I LOVE Kabocha Squash and peanut butter. Baking the kabocha squash until it’s nice and warm and then mixing cinnamon, vanilla bean powder, sea salt, a little lemon and stevia (or sugar, etc) combined with the peanut butter as it melts on the warm squash…it is HEAVEN. Great for winter comfort food or any cold day.

In summertime, kabocha squash pureed with peanut butter in a food processor with previous ingredients plus ice cubes=great post workout recovery shake (complex carbs+protein).

    Very versatile and satisfying.

  56. Whitney says:

… pad thai, african peanut soup… or cookies. Can’t go wrong with cookies. :)

  57. Natalie J Vandenberghe says:

I love cereal bars (made with Corn Flakes or Special K usually). They have more than a cup of peanut butter! They are easy to make and delicious! We also love traditional PB cookies and brownies/bars. My husband eats peanuts right out of the shell most of the time. oh, I love adding peanuts to my salads–especially broccoli salad. Thanks for the giveaway.

  58. Kaela says:

I think my favorite peanut butter recipe is very simple. Melt a 1 to 1 ratio of peanut butter to coconut butter in the mircowave or stove. Add sweetener or salt according to your tastes. Then put it on anything cold: cold oatmeal (my favorite) cold ice cream, cold brownies or cookies… and it hardens into a delicious, peanut butter flavored shell. It makes any cold treat even better. I often put half defrosted berries on my cereal, and then add a layer of the peanut/coconut mixture over them… and once it hardens you get to break through it to get to the cereal underneath… SO GOOD.

My favorite recipe using peanut butter is simply crunchy peanut butter & strawberry preserves on a toasted english muffin.

  61. Allie says:

puppy chow! at least that’s what it was called where I grew up – it may have several names…the recipe with PB and chocolate mixed into cereal (does that squared-off, diamond-shaped cereal exist anymore? Crispix? is that what it was called?) and dusted with powdered sugar. Yum!

  62. Jordan D says:

My favorite savory way to eat peanut butter is a little weird…peanut butter and spinach pita wraps. Seriously, so good. I also love crunchy peanut butter and raspberry jam on toasted english muffins. The melty, crunchy, sweet combo is amazing when I have a PB craving.
