Monkey Sundae

I’m glad I’m not a monkey. I could live on bananas, but without peanut butter what’s the point? I have no doubt that a monkey could open a jar of peanut butter but he certainly couldn’t make it. The only option available to the monkey would be to befriend a human. But even if the monkey found a human companion, he would have to deal with an inter-species language barrier and would need to communicate his desire for peanut butter with only “oohs” and “ahhs”. Plus, monkeys eat a lot of bananas which would require a lot of peanut butter and I doubt the human he finds is a millionaire; The human would eventually want compensation – but monkeys don’t have cash or credit, only fleas and feces. No, I don’t want to be a monkey at all. But enjoy my Monkey Sundae.

Ingredients:

3/4 cup ice cream (Mint Cookies and Cream is a winner)
2 Tbsp creamy peanut butter
1 Tbsp peanuts
2 tsp dark chocolate chips
1/3 banana, in slices
3 mini pretzels, broken up (optional)

Directions:

1. Place ice cream in a bowl. If peanut butter is very creamy, drizzle on top of ice cream – otherwise, microwave the peanut butter in a small dish for 10 seconds before drizzling on top. Throw on the peanuts, chocolate chips and pretzels, then top with banana slices. Place the bowl in the freezer for 5 minutes, then consume.
