Chocolate Covered PB Stuffed Jalapeño

The other day, I stumbled upon a website selling chocolate covered, peanut butter stuffed jalapeños. I knew I had to try it. It sounds strange, but this combination is just a result of the transitive property in mathematics (you remember 5th grade math, right?). It’s quite simple, for example: If A = B and B = C, then A = C. By the same logic, if peanut butter goes with chocolate (aka the “Reese’s Rule”) and chocolate goes with spicy (aka the “Aztec Axiom”), then somebody needed to create this recipe. This year for Christmas I’m not buying anyone gifts – I’m just giving these out. Get ready family!


1 large jalapeño pepper
1 Tbsp natural creamy peanut butter
1 oz dark chocolate
1/2 tsp sugar
sea salt


1. Rinse and dry the jalapeño, then cut the top off (but don’t throw it away). Use a skinny knife to cut out the pith and the seeds from inside.

2. Place the chocolate in a small bowl and microwave on medium power for 1 minute, checking and stirring the chocolate every 20 seconds, until just melted.

3. Mix the peanut butter with sugar. Carefully stuff the pepper with peanut butter, then cover both parts of the jalapeño with the melted chocolate and stick them together. Sprinkle with sea salt, place the pepper on a piece of tin foil and refrigerate until the chocolate hardens.

The best way to serve this is get a sharp serrated knife and cut into slices.
